Luton Town winger Gideon Kodua has been ruled out “until the new year” after suffering a hamstring injury.
The 22-year-old Ghanaian forward was taken off just before the half-hour mark of Saturday’s EFL Trophy draw at Colchester after sustaining the injury.
The League One club said, external scans showed the former West Ham youngster, who joined on a permanent deal in the summer following a loan spell in 2025-26, would require surgery.

Confirming player’s injury, Luton Town FC said:
“Ahead of tomorrow’s return to Sky Bet League One action at Wycombe, we can confirm that Gideon Kodua will be sidelined until the new year with a hamstring injury.”
The statement further detailed that: “The Town attacker was substituted just before the half-hour mark of last Saturday’s Jersey Mike’s Trophy game at Colchester after sustaining the injury.
“Scans showed that the 22-year-old former West Ham youngster required surgery to repair the damage, which has been undertaken and he is now into his rehabilitation period with the medical staff at The Brache.
“Everyone at the club wishes Gids a safe and speedy recovery.”
Kodua has 59 appearances in all competitions for the Hatters, scoring 12 goals.
