Former Ghana international and Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC player, Samuel Opoku Nti has asked for the appointment of former Black Stars coach James Kwasi Appiah as the new Ghana coach.
Ahead of the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers playoffs against Nigeria, the former Ghana player has called for for the immediate employment of Appiah as the new gaffer.
According to the former Asante Kotoko CEO, Kwasi Appiah with his experience and knowledge about the job and current players will be the best candidate for the Black Stars job as the World Cup qualifiers get closer by day.
“We need to bring Kwesi Appiah back because he has a rich history with the national team”, he told Happy FM.
“We need Kwesi Appiah for the Nigeria game after that we open in for applications”, he added.
The Ghana Football Association has begun the search for a new coach after Milovan Rajevac was sacked on Wednesday following the Black Stars abysmal and shameful exit from the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations.
Ghana will play Nigeria on the 23rd of March in Ghana before they travel to Nigeria to take on the Super Eagles for a place in the next FIFA Mundial.
