Ghanaian defender Mohammed Salisu is fit again and has started personal training ahead of his return to team training in France.
He started personal training this week and is expected to join the rest of the team to train for the first time since the start of the 2023-24 campaign in France.
The center-back joined French Ligue 1 giant AS Monaco after leaving Southampton FC who suffered relegation from the English Premier League to the Championship at the end of the 2022-23 season.
Unfortunately for the defender, he has been kept on the sidelines due to injuries and is set to finally return to the field which will be a good news not only for his team but for the Black Stars team.
He could play a key role for the Black Stars when they begin their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers from 13-21 November, 2023 when they host Madagascar at home and travel away to Comoros respectively.
The next round of qualification matches will be played from 3 -11 June, 2024 away to Mali and at home against Central Africa Republic.
The senior national team will then come up against Chad at home before travelling as guests to Madagascar between 17-25 March, 2025.
Other qualification matches have been scheduled for 1-9 September, 2025 with the final matchday scheduled for 6-14 october, 2025 against Central Africa Republic and Comoros respectively.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup will be staged in Canada, USA and Mexico between June -July, 2026.
