The government has launched a performance tracker to share with citizenry all projects being undertaken with tax-payer’s money since it took power in January 2017 to promote transparency and accountability.
Under the Youth and Sports tracker, the government has detailed a total of 10 stadia/ Youth Centres under construction since 2017. Out of the 10, nine of them are youth resource centres with auxiliary facilities with one serving as a multipurpose stadium.
Construction of auxiliary facilities are currently under construction at Navrongo stadium phase 1, Koforidua phase 1, Wa phase 1&2, Ho phase 1&2, Yendi Phase 1 &2, Axim phase 1 &2, Kaneshie phase 1, Dorma Ahenkro phase 1 and Nyinahini phase one.
Out of the two multi-purpose stadia, the sports court with ancillary facility located at Kitase in the Eastern Region is fully completed.
The government has initiated sports infrastructure since it took power in 2017 to improve upon the existing sports facilities in the country.
Ghana successfully hosted the All-African games with the newly built multi-purpose stadium at Borteyman and the renovation of the University of Ghana Sports stadium.
