Asante Kotoko emerged victorious in dramatic fashion on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, edging Young Apostles in a thrilling league encounter.
The Porcupine Warriors, looking to bounce back after a 1–1 draw with Aduana FC last weekend, controlled much of the first half but failed to break the deadlock.
The breakthrough came shortly after the restart, when Hubert Gyau scored in the 51st minute. Young Apostles responded swiftly, with Richmond Opoku equalizing just two minutes later.
With the match heading towards a draw, Kotoko earned a penalty deep in added time. Captain Ndongani Samba Gilbani stepped up and calmly converted, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to secure a dramatic 2–1 victory.
The win lifts Kotoko to fourth on the league table with 19 points, keeping their unbeaten start to the season intact. Coach Karim Zito’s side now prepare for Sunday’s Matchday 11 clash against FC Samartex at the Nsenkyire Arena, aiming to extend their impressive run.
