Bibiani Gold Stars bounced back from their loss to Asante Kotoko with a commanding 2-0 victory over Berekum Chelsea at Dun’s Park on Saturday, January 4, 2025.
The win marked Gold Stars’ third consecutive home triumph, pushing them to 30 points, level with league leaders Heart of Lions, who are set to play tomorrow.
After a tightly contested first half that ended goalless, Gideon Anaba broke the deadlock in the 72nd minute, giving the Miners a well-deserved lead.
Berekum Chelsea’s struggles deepened when Seidu Mohammed scored an own goal in the 85th minute, doubling Gold Stars’ advantage and sealing the victory for the home side.
The visitors, now winless in their last four matches and with just one victory in their previous nine, remain 8th on the league table with 19 points.
Looking ahead, Berekum Chelsea will seek redemption in their next game at home against Medeama. Meanwhile, Bibiani Gold Stars, off to a strong start this year, will aim to continue their momentum when they travel to face Accra Lions.
