Medeama SC will face a formidable challenge in their quest to maintain top spot in the Premier League when they travel to take on a resilient Bechem United side at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park on Saturday.

Bechem United head into the clash in confident mood, sitting 10th on the table with 31 points after a steady run of form that has seen them secure two wins in their last five matches (D1, L2).

The Hunters have now recorded 10 victories from 27 games, the fourth highest tally in the league, highlighting their ability to grind out results. Their strength, however, lies firmly in their home performances.

Ranked among the league’s best on home soil, they boast nine wins, four draws, and just one defeat in 14 matches, underpinned by a remarkably tight defence that has conceded only three goals while scoring 14. Adding to their confidence is a strong recent record against Medeama in Bechem, where they have won three of their last five meetings (D1, L1), making this encounter a daunting assignment for the league leaders.

Medeama SC travel to Bechem with renewed momentum after reclaiming the top spot following a 2-0 victory over Eleven Wonders. That crucial win ended a frustrating six-game winless run and lifted them to 49 points from 27 matches, keeping them narrowly ahead in an increasingly tight title race.

The Mauve and Yellow have been the league’s most potent attacking force this season, netting 36 goals, while also maintaining defensive solidity with just 19 conceded. Their performances on the road have been equally impressive, ranking them as the second-best away side with four wins, six draws and only three defeats from 14 matches.

With just a one-point cushion at the top, Medeama know there is little margin for error as the season approaches its  defining stage. Against a defensively disciplined and home-dominant Bechem United, this fixture presents another stern examination of their title credentials, one that could significantly shape the outcome of the Premier League race.
