In the first match of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League matchweek 2 on Saturday, a first half goal for Kamaradini Mamudu fired Medeama SC to a 1-0 win at Legon Cities FC.

The versatile defender squeezed home the only goal of the match in the 18th minute with a tap in from close range at the University of Ghana Stadium.

The visitors held on to cement their impressive record against the Royals on matchday-2 of the Premier League.

The 2022-23 Premier League winners have maintained a 100% record to start to the season following their hard fought 1-0 win over Accra Lions in the season’s opener last weekend.

For Legon Cities, their second successive defeat is an early warning to the team with 32 matches left to be played.

Heart of Lions recorded a precious 2-0 win over an Hearts of Oak team who continue to struggle in front of goal in matchweek-2 of the Premier League on Sunday September 15, 2024.

Two second half goals condemned the Phobians to their second successive defeat in the 2024-25 Premier League campaign. They are firmly rooted at the bottom of the table with zero point from two games.

After a thrilling first half, Nana Oppong put the Kpando-based side in front with the opening goal in the 83rd minute before Ishmael Addo put the icing on the cake with the second goal three minute to regulation time.

It’s a positive start for Heart of Lions this season after they escaped relegation on the final day of last season while its another disappointing beginning for the Phobians, who are still in search of their first win of the season.

Hearts of Oak coach Aboubakar Ouattara has now supervised 19 Premier League matches, winning 7, drawing 3 and losing 9, while scoring 22 goals and conceding 22 in the process

Young Apostles FC failed to make home advantage count in their first Premier League match at the Nana Abrefa Nketiah VII Park when they drew goalless against Nations FC.

The Premier League new boys were handed reality check after they failed to break down a resolute Nations FC down in front of their home fans as the two teams shared the points in a pulsating 0-0  draw at Wenchi.

Mezack Afriyie scored the only goal of the match for Berekum  Chelsea in their 1-0 win over Karela United at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park on Sunday September 15, 2024.

The centre-forward’s decisive goal in the 10th minute separated the two teams and ensured the Berekum-based side picked their first win of the season.

Basake Holy Stars drew 0-0 with Dreams FC at the C.A.M Park in Aiyinase on Sunday.

The Premier League new boys struggled in front of goal as the two teams shared the spoils on matchweek-2 of the Premier League.

Holy Stars, fresh from their famous win at Hearts of Oak, were expected to deliver success in front of their home fans but they failed to glitter as the two teams shared the points.

Bechem United and Aduana FC also shared the spoils in an entertaining 0-0 stalemate at the Nana Gyeabour Park in Bechem.

Tried as they did,  the two teams failed to break down each other in a thrilling matchweek-2 of the 2024-25 Premier League season.

And on Monday afternoon, Vision FC recorded their first ever victory in the Premier League after a 2-0 win at Accra Lions to conclude matchweek-2 of the Ghanaian top-flight.

A goal in each half propelled the ‘Eewo’ lads to their first win in their debut campaign in the domestic elite division.

Elijah Addai put the visitors in front with a sublime finish in the 44th minute at the Accra Sports Stadium before Emmanuel Kyei doubled the lead for the Premier League new boys.

It’s a big result for coach Nana Agyemang, who is in his first season at the ambitious Ghanaian club.

Vision FC were held to a goalless draw at home by Berekum Chelsea, while Accra Lions are still without a win after losing 1-0 at Medeama SC last weekend.
