A superb second half strike from Ghanaian forward Kwame Poku earned Peterborough United a 1-1 draw from their battle with Lincoln City at the Weston Homes Stadium on Saturday.
It is a first point on the board at the Weston Homes Stadium for Peterborough United as a stunning strike from Kwame Poku earned Darren Ferguson’s men a point from the Sky Bet League One clash with Lincoln City.
It was another game whereby Posh found themselves behind, but this time in front of their own supporters, they were able to pocket a point as Poku cut inside onto his left-foot and fired past the goalkeeper from the edge of the box.
Posh started the game brightly, dominating possession inside the first 10 minutes, without creating an opportunity in front of goal and it was the visitors who had the first shot towards goal, as Tom Bayliss advanced before driving a low shot wide of the target.
Hector Kyprianou forced Wickens into a smart stop by his near post after a well-worked free-kick on 24 minutes while at the other end, it took a fine goal-line clearance from Jack Sparkes to prevent House from finding the breakthrough.
On 32 minutes, the Imps opened the scoring as HOUSE guided home a volley from close-range after a sustained spell of pressure.
Randall couldn’t guide his volley past the keeper moments later before Jefferies was prevented from doubling the Imps advantage by a fine Steer stop.
Darren Ferguson made four substitutions before the hour mark to try and lift his side but it was Steer who was next called into action as he kept out House after he had wriggled into space inside the penalty area.
However, moments later Posh were level, Kwame POKU collected a pass in the wide area, used the overlapping run from Sam Curtis as a distraction to the defence, before cutting inside and firing a fine effort into the corner from just outside of the box.
