As the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season nears its conclusion, clubs are fighting to gather as many points as possible for various reasons.
Most of the top six teams view themselves as title contenders and want to win as many matches as possible to stake a claim for the title. For the bottom five teams, upcoming games pose a significant challenge, with the pressure to win games and stand a chance of avoiding relegation at the end of the season.
This weekend, all 18 participating clubs will compete in Week 29 of the league action. One of the multiple games scheduled for Sunday is the clash between Nsoatreman FC and Medeama SC.
Nsoatreman FC has struggled to compete in their debut Ghana Premier League season, sitting in 17th place with 34 points after playing 28 games. The team has only managed one win, one draw, and three defeats in the last five matches, which does not bode well for their hopes of avoiding relegation.
To avoid the drop, the team needs to secure victories in the upcoming weeks. Their opponents this weekend, Medeama SC, have been in impressive form since coach Evans Adotey took charge as the new head coach.
The team currently sits second in the Ghana Premier League, just three points behind league leaders Aduana Stars, and cannot be discounted in the title race.
The match will take place on Sunday, April 30, kicking off at 15:00 GMT at the Nana Kromansah Park.
