In a strategic move aimed at strengthening their defensive lineup, Asante Kotoko is on the verge of finalizing a deal with former Medeama SC left-back, Fatawu Sulemana.
Sulemana, a former Aduman SHS student, initially joined Medeama in 2019 after his tenure with Miracle Land FC. However, earlier this year, an unexpected turn of events led him to Al Merreikh.
The armed conflict in Sudan has prompted Sulemana’s return to Ghana, making him a potential asset for Asante Kotoko. As negotiations near completion, the club looks forward to bolstering their squad with the addition of this seasoned left-back.
At present, Asante Kotoko boasts John Tedeku, Nicholas Osei Bonsu, and Nana Bayin Amoah in the left-back position. Should the deal materialize, Sulemana is set to vie for a place, adding healthy competition to the team’s defensive options.
