Media reports indicate that Asante Kotoko have successfully acquired the services of Michael Kyei Dwamena, the captain of West Africa Football Academy (WAFA), in preparation for the upcoming season.
The 23-year-old talented midfielder has reportedly put pen to paper for the Porcupine Warriors, though an official announcement from the club is still pending.
Dwamena’s signing marks the first addition to the roster of the reigning Ghana Premier League champions.
The exciting aspect of this transfer is the reunion of Dwamena with his former coach, Prosper Narteh Ogum, who also moves to Kotoko after their time together at WAFA in previous years.
Asante Kotoko had a void to fill in their midfield following the departure of captain Richard Boadu and Mudasiru Salifu, who moved to Libya and Saudi Arabia, respectively.
With Dwamena’s arrival, the team hopes to bolster their midfield and build a formidable squad that can compete for honors in the forthcoming season. The talented midfielder is expected to complement the Porcupine Warriors as they set their sights on achieving success in the upcoming campaign.
