Bibiani Gold Stars and Asante Kotoko are set to clash at DUN’s Park on Saturday as the betPawa Premier League enters Matchday Two.

Gold Stars had a challenging start to the season, suffering a 2-0 defeat to Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park on the opening weekend.

In their 34 home games in the league since their debut in the 2021/22 season, the Miners have secured 23 wins, 6 draws, and suffered 5 losses in their home fixtures. Notably, they lost three home games in the 2021/22 season and two games in the 2022/23 campaign.

Asante Kotoko boasts an unbeaten record in their last three meetings with Gold Stars at Dun’s Park, with one win and one draw.

Asante Kotoko’s coach, Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum, who had a draw in his first game against Heart of Lions in his second stint, anticipates a strong performance from his players as they aim to secure their first win of the season and maintain their unbeaten run against the Miners.

The Porcupine Warriors have bolstered their squad with additions like Henry Ansu from Berekum Chelsea, Baba Yahaya from King Faisal, Nurudeen Yussif from Real Tamale United, and Kalou Ouattara, well-known for his time at Berekum Chelsea.

Cameroonian forward Geoge Mfegue, Micheal Kyei Dwamena, Sherrif Mohammed, Augustine Agyapong, Richmond Lamptey, Serge Eric Zeze, and Danlad Ibrahim provide a strong connection between the new recruits and the experienced players.

Gold Stars have also reinforced their squad with signings like Roland Frimping, Sadat Mohammed, William Dankyi Ntori, and Ali Huzaif. Players such as Yahaya Adraman, Prince Kwabena Owusu, Samuel Amofa, and Stephen Owusu Banahene offer coach Michael Osei plenty of options heading into the encounter.

The game is scheduled to be broadcast live on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 3 pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023.
