Returnees Bofoakwa Tano will host Real Tamale United at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Friday when the 2023/24 betPawa Premier League enters Matchday Two.

The former SWAG Cup winners opened their campaign with a well deserved point against Accra Great Olympics (0-0) at the Accra Sports stadium on Saturday.

Bofoakwa Tano had a magnificent build up to the League season after winning the third edition of the Division One League Super Cup a fortnight ago.

The club has been boosted by the signing of former Ghana defender Frimpong Manso who joined after their playoff win over Techiman Eleven Wonders as head coach.

He seems to have brought on board discipline, team solidarity and a new wave of confidence having been in the game for more than 4 decades.

Bofoakwa Tano will for the first time in 16-years host a Premier League game in front of their fans in Sunyani and sees that as a perfect platform to announce their return to elite football.

Real Tamale United made the headlines on the opening weekend after Afriyie Owusu’s 93rd minute goal gave them a 1-0 win against Hearts of Oak at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium.

The win was a manifestation of their recent run against the Phobians as it gave them their fourth consecutive win over the former African champions.

Coach Frimpong Manso’s Boafoakwa Tano will rely on winger Elija Addai who was adjudged the best player in the game against Accra Great Olympics, forward Najib Fuseini Ibrahim, defender Emmanuel Ankrah, striker Saaka Dauda and the mercurial Clement Ansah.

Real Tamale United lost 8 of their starters to other clubs in the Division but have been swift with some top recruits to replace them.

Mohammed Alhassan Mankuyeli, Owusu Afriyie, Baba Kushibo, Iddrisu Gadafi, Lord Hilary Adabo and Hafiz Adams showed glimpses of quality against Hearts of Oak in their opening match and are expected to match their opponents at a very familiar territory.

The game will be broadcast on StarTimes Adepa channel 247 at 3pm on Friday, September 22,2023.
