1. Immense Pressure is on Prosper Ogum

Asante Kotoko head coach Prosper Ogum was threatened with a curse by some angry Fabolous fans after the 2-1 defeat on Thursday night against Nsoatreman. Everyone associated with Asante Kotoko is livid with how things are going currently. Kotoko’s opponent Dreams FC are in the relegation zone but has 2 games in hand.

Karim Zito’s Dreams FC are unbeaten in the last 11 home games. Prosper Narteh Ogum has a huge game on Sunday because Dreams FC is extremely good. Will the immense pressure on Asante Kotoko’s head coach Prosper Ogum intensify? A win for Dreams FC will spark another fury from Asante Kotoko fans.

2. Karela can leapfrog Hearts of Oak with a win on Saturday

Imagine Karela United surpassing Accra Hearts of Oak on the League log. The two teams are just separated by 2 points and it is very unbelievable looking at where Karela was sitting before the second round began.

A trip to the wounded Phobia at the Accra Sports Stadium can bring a whole lot of reactions on Saturday night as it will be difficult for Accra Hearts of Oak fans to accept it. They have now lost their last 3 games. A win is a must to calm things down for Phobia but Karela will pose a huge threat.

3. Nations FC and Samartex are in a two-horse race for the title

Aduana Stars blew the chance to close the gap on Nations FC and Samartex after the surprise 1-0 defeat to Boafoakwa as none of the top two sides won in mid-week. Samartex leads Nations FC by 3 points heading into Week 26.

The two teams are playing at their favourite home grounds against Berekum Chelsea and Bofoakwa Tano respectively. Aduana Stars will host Heart of Lions but it is becoming obvious that the Ogya Boys are not ready to challenge for the title.

4. Frimpong Manso and Bibiani Gold Stars return to Accra

That Sunday night was so sensational for Bibiani Gold Stars. It was their first away win in the GPL in 21 games. The victory was masterminded by Frimpong Manso who proved to Bibiani Gold Stars that they can be good also in away games. At Dun’s Park in Bibiani, Frimpong Manso has won all the 6 league games played at home.

He needed to do well in the away games and he started it with a great win in Accra. He returns to the capital city again with his side against Ibrahim Tanko’s unpredictable Accra Lions on Monday.

5. Can Medeama spark a title challenge?

Medeama SC can move further up the table with a win over Berekum Chelsea on Sunday. After no win in 2 games, the Mauve and Yellow bounced back to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Hearts of Oak in midweek.

The win subsequently helped the defending champions move to 6th on the log with a whopping 10 points behind Samartex SC. At the Akoon Park in Tarkwa, Medeama will host the unpredictable Legon Cities. A win can help Medeama SC move up at least a place or two. Will the defending champions mount a late title challenge?
