The 2022/23 Ghana Premier League season enters Week 30 on Saturday, May 6, with just five matches remaining for each of the 18 participating teams. One game is scheduled for Saturday, seven on Sunday, and the last on Monday.
One of the standout fixtures of the weekend is Sunday’s clash between Asante Kotoko and Bibiani Gold Stars. As defending champions, Kotoko has not been able to replicate their title-winning form this season, suffering from inconsistent performances throughout the campaign.
They currently sit in 6th place on the league table, having won one, lost two, and drawn one of their last five matches. With only eight points separating them from the league leaders, it’s becoming increasingly difficult for Kotoko to retain their title.
On the other hand, Bibiani Gold Stars are only two points behind Kotoko and could potentially overtake them with a win this weekend.
Despite their promising position, the team’s recent form is not encouraging, with three losses and two wins in their last five matches.
