Medeama Held as Title Race Tightens

Medeama SC’s advantage at the top of the Ghana Premier League standings narrowed after they were held to a goalless draw by Swedru All Blacks at the Swedru Sports Stadium on Sunday.

In a tense contest with few clear scoring opportunities, both sides struggled for cutting edge in attack and ultimately settled for a point each. The result keeps the Tarkwa-based club top with 46 points, but their lead has now shrunk to just one point.

Reigning champions Bibiani Gold Stars FC have moved within touching distance of the summit after securing an important victory elsewhere, increasing pressure at the top of the table.

Gold Stars Continue Surge with Win Over Hearts of Oak

Bibiani Gold Stars strengthened their title charge with a hard-fought 2-1 victory against Hearts of Oak, extending their winning streak to four consecutive league matches.

The hosts started brightly and took the lead in the 15th minute through in-form forward Samuel Atta Kumi. Hearts of Oak responded strongly, with Henry Kwaku Boateng restoring parity to set up a competitive second half.

However, Augustine Boakye delivered the decisive moment late in the match, scoring the winner to hand Gold Stars all three points and move them to 45 points — just one behind leaders Medeama.

Hearts of Oak remain third on 40 points but face mounting pressure as the title race intensifies.

Kotoko Frustrated by Resilient Vision FC

Asante Kotoko were left disappointed after being held to a goalless draw by Vision FC at the Baba Yara Stadium. Despite dominating possession and creating several chances, the Porcupine Warriors failed to find a breakthrough.

Vision FC showed resilience, even after Mohammed Awudu was sent off with 21 minutes remaining. Kotoko stay fourth on the table, seven points behind the leaders.

Dreams FC and Hohoe United Boost Survival Chances

Dreams FC revived their campaign with a crucial 1-0 victory over Aduana FC at the Tuba Astro Turf. Captain John Antwi’s 67th-minute goal secured their first win in six matches, lifting them to 11th place while denting Aduana’s title ambitions.

Hohoe United also strengthened their fight against relegation with a narrow 1-0 win over FC Samartex 1996, courtesy of Kekeli Attor’s early second-half strike.

Holy Stars Maintain Strong Home Form; Chelsea Snatch Late Draw

Basake Holy Stars continued their impressive home run with a narrow victory over ten-man Heart of Lions, as Prince Tweneboah’s goal secured consecutive home wins and moved the side further away from danger.

At the Golden City Park, Berekum Chelsea rescued a dramatic 1-1 draw against Young Apostles. Richmond Opoku had given the visitors the lead, but Benjamin Abaidoo struck deep into stoppage time to earn Chelsea a late point.

Bechem United, Karela Share Points

Bechem United and Karela United settled for a 0-0 draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in a tightly contested encounter. The Hunters finished the match with ten men after Rasco Abassah London’s late dismissal, but Karela failed to capitalise on the advantage.

The result leaves Karela United seventh with 35 points, while Bechem United drop to 12th place in the standings.
