Ghanaian defender Hamidu Abdul Fatawu has sealed a move to Algerian top-flight newcomers MB Rouissat ahead of the 2025/26 season.
The 26-year-old left-back arrives on a free transfer after parting ways with Egyptian Premier League club Ghazl El Mahalla at the close of the 2024/25 campaign. During his time in Egypt, he made 22 appearances across all competitions, having joined El Mahalla in July 2024 following an impressive spell with Medeama SC, where he shone in their CAF Champions League run.
Fatawu’s performances at Medeama also earned him his debut call-up to the Ghana senior national team, featuring in a 3-1 friendly victory over Liberia at the Accra Sports Stadium. Known for his attacking threat from defense, he famously scored a stunning free-kick against Nations FC in the Ghana Premier League.
Before his time at Medeama, Fatawu represented Vision FC and Accra Lions. His experience is expected to be a valuable asset for MB Rouissat as they prepare for their maiden season in Algeria’s Ligue 1, which kicks off later this month.
