Black Stars defender Gideon Mensah has expressed his delight after overcoming injury to feature for his side in their league game against Lille.
The 24-year-old made the starting lineup for Auxerre’s Ligue 1 game against Lille at home and played the entire duration of the game.
Mensah made a vital clearance off the line and impressed heavily as his side grabbed a vital point against the fifth-placed side.
He came off in the 26th minute of Auxerre’s fixture against Troyes after the international break and looked to be out for long after using crutches.
However, the left-back was in the starting lineup for Saturday’s game against Lille as Auxerre looked to distance themselves even further from the relegation battle.
The 24-year-old returned to training with his teammates earlier this week and felt no setback leading to his involvement against Lille.
After the 1-1 draw, the left-back shared his excitement on his return to the pitch.
Auxerre currently occupy the 14th position on the league table with a handful of games still to go until the end of the campaign.
