Hearts of Oak has elevated club icon Bernard Dong Bortey from his position as the Under-14 development coach to take charge of their U20 team, Auroras Football Club, Sportsworldghana.com can exclusively reveal.
This decision to appoint the club legend is a significant component of the team’s comprehensive restructuring initiative, aimed at revitalizing the focus on propelling Auroras to Division One qualification.
Bernard Dong Bortey steps into the role, succeeding Samuel Nii Noi, who will now assume leadership of the club’s U-17 side, Royal Oaks.
Having amassed more than 100 appearances for the club during his playing career, Bortey’s legacy is further celebrated by his four league title victories, triumphant feat in the CAF Champions League, and his joint top scorer accolade in the Ghana Premier League during the 2002 season.
