Accra Hearts of Oak assistant coach Yaw Amankwah has commended his team’s attacking approach following their 2-0 victory over Young Apostles.
Goals from Michael Awuah and Hamza Issah secured a crucial win for the Phobians, who showed dominance from the start.
“First of all, I wish to congratulate my boys. They did very well today. From the blast of the whistle, we took the game to them, and we won the game,” Amankwah said post-match.
He emphasized the importance of the victory, noting the team’s struggles in converting chances in recent matches.
“It is very important for Hearts of Oak, looking at the position this game puts both the players and the team. If you assess Accra Hearts of Oak since the resumption of the league or the friendly matches we have played, you will see that this has been our biggest problem. So we tried to improve, created a lot of chances, and when we got them, we scored two.”
Hearts of Oak will next face 15th-placed Dreams FC on March 16, with fans eager for another win to strengthen their position in the league table.
