Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Aduana Stars, Takyi Arhin, known as ‘Thunder,’ has expressed his excitement at the possibility of Hearts of Oak being relegated from the topflight in the final fixtures of the 2022/23 Ghana Premier League this weekend.
The Phobians have been performing poorly lately, having lost four consecutive matches, which has dropped them to the 11th position on the league table with 45 points.
In order to secure their survival, they must give their all against Berekum Chelsea this Sunday, as a defeat could potentially relegate them if clubs like Great Olympics, Accra Lions, Tamale City, and Legon Cities all secure victories in their respective matches.
Speaking to Boss FM in Kumasi, the experienced football administrator acknowledged that Hearts of Oak is a big club and should not find themselves in such a precarious position. However, he emphasized that they can only reflect on how and why they are now fighting to avoid relegation.
He went on to say that he would be the happiest person on earth if Hearts of Oak were demoted to the country’s second-tier league.
“I hope Berekum Chelsea beats Hearts of Oak and they get relegated. That would be the happiest day of my life because their poor performance and mismanagement have led them to this level.”
“When you allow clubs like Tamale City to defeat you 4-1, Medeama to beat you 5-1, and RTU to defeat you, whom do you blame? You have only yourself to blame. Hearts is a big team, and there is a reason why they find themselves in their current position.”
