Hearts of Oak board member Nyaho Tamakloe demands GFA’s action against referee Reginald Amoah after Super Clash loss

Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe, a board member of Hearts of Oak, has urged the Ghana Football Association’s Disciplinary Committee to take action against referee Reginald Collins Amoah, describing his officiating in the recent Super Clash against Asante Kotoko as “incompetent.”

The controversial decisions during the match included a penalty awarded to Kotoko after Hearts defender Yaw Amankwa Baafi was deemed to have fouled Peter Amidu Acquah in the box. Guinean striker Morifing Donzo converted the spot-kick, handing Hearts their first defeat of the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season.

Additionally, Mawuli Wayo’s stoppage-time goal for Hearts was ruled out for offside, a call that further fueled Nyaho-Tamakloe’s frustration.

“I call on the GFA to discipline Referee Reginald Collins Amoah. He is incompetent,” Nyaho-Tamakloe told Asempa FM.
“Either he is incompetent or somebody has put money into his hands. This sort of nonsense is what I hate in this country. When the thing is wrong, it is wrong irrespective of who has committed the offense.”

Meanwhile, the GFA Disciplinary Committee has charged Hearts of Oak and midfielder Mohammed Hussein for misconduct during the same fixture. The association stated that the club failed to control its players after the final whistle and that supporters threw objects onto the pitch.

Hussein Mohammed has also been accused of assaulting referee Amoah as he made his way to the tunnel under police protection.

Both Hearts of Oak and Hussein have been given until Tuesday, November 11, to respond to the charges.
