The job security of Hearts of Oak coach, Slavko Matic, remains uncertain as he was absent from the game against Bibiani Gold Stars on Saturday.
The Ghana Police Service advised Matic to stay away from the club after supporters prevented him from holding a training session with the team before the Super Clash game against Asante Kotoko on March 4th.
The club has yet to issue an official statement on Matic’s position as head coach. Assistant coach David Ocloo led the team to a draw on match day 21.
Reports suggest that the club’s management is discussing the possibility of terminating Matic’s contract for his safety and security. The supporters have warned the management against allowing Matic back to the club, and a board member, Nyaho Tamakloe, has confirmed that he personally warned Matic about the supporters’ reactions to poor results.
Hearts of Oak management is expected to hold a meeting this week to discuss Matic’s future, given the supporters’ opposition to him.
