Hearts of Oak’s head coach, Abubakar Ouattara, was pleased with his team’s remarkable comeback during their match against Heart of Lions at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in match-week 22.

The Phobians found themselves trailing after Mustapha Yakubu’s impressive freekick in the 45+4th minute of the first half. However, they swiftly responded, leveling the score with a header from Salim Adams just five minutes into the second half.

Maintaining their momentum, Mtange sealed the crucial victory for the Rainbow boys in the 62nd minute, seizing on a rebounded shot from Lions goalkeeper Ebenezer Osae.

Ouattara, who has secured three wins in five games since taking charge of Hearts in February, highlighted the importance of tactical discipline, especially in the second half of the match. He stressed, “It’s just the tactical discipline, the first half was very difficult for us but in the second half, I told them we should not lose this game, it is not possible. We are happy for the win but we have to be consistent in our games and keep winning.”

Additionally, Ouattara recognized the value of embracing different viewpoints in the team’s resurgence. He explained, “Sometimes, I listen to the journalists, I listen and make decisions, the criticism is good for me. I need more criticism to make changes, that is why I put him in the frontline. I love the fans, we are fighting for them.”

Currently, Hearts holds the 7th position on the league table with 32 points. They are preparing to take on league leaders Sarmatex in their forthcoming match-week 23 fixture.
