Assistant coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Abdul Rashid Bashir, has admitted that his team delivered a subpar performance in their narrow defeat to Bofoakwa Tano at the Sunyani Coronation Park on Saturday, September 30, 2023.
Coming off a loss in their previous away match against RTU, Hearts of Oak failed to meet expectations as they fell behind in the 47th minute when Saaka Dauda found the bottom corner of the net.
The Phobians struggled to find an equalizer as Bofoakwa Tano outplayed them and effectively neutralized their threats. Bofoakwa held on for a memorable victory over Hearts of Oak.
Bashir, speaking to StarTimes after the match, stated, “To be frank with you we played so bad, especially in the first half. That wasn’t the plan. The score line was a fair score line,” Bashir told StarTimes at full time.
“…Later part of the game we came in the game but it was too late. And I think they played well,” he added.
