Ghana Premier League giant Accra Hearts of Oak SC have made significant changes to their squad ahead of the second round of the 2023/24 Ghana Premier League season, aiming to turn around their inconsistent performance. As the team finished the first round at the 10th position on the Premier League log with 21 points, the management has decided to drop seven players from the squad list.

The decision to remove these players comes alongside a need to rejuvenate and refocus the team for the upcoming matches. The players who have been left out of the squad list are Eric Esso, Richmond Ayi, Albert Eonde, Eric Ofori Antwi, Michelle Sarpong, Salim Adams, and Kwadwo Obeng Junior. This move reflects the club’s commitment to making strategic changes to improve their standing in the league.

With the second round of the season scheduled to commence in February, Hearts of Oak are gearing up to face Real Tamale United at the Accra Sports Stadium. However, there is uncertainty surrounding the leadership as it is yet to be confirmed whether interim coach Abdul Bashiru, who replaced Martin Koopman, will continue to lead the side in the second round of the season.

These changes signal a shift in strategy for Hearts of Oak as they seek to reignite their performance and make a strong push in the remaining matches of the season. The decision to part ways with the seven players reflects the club’s determination to realign the team and pursue success in the league.

It remains to be seen how the new lineup and potential coaching situation will impact the team’s performance moving forward. As the stage is set for the commencement of the second round, Hearts of Oak and their loyal supporters will be eagerly anticipating the unfolding developments and the team’s pursuit of improved results in the Ghana Premier League.
