Hearts of Oak captain Benjamin Asare is optimistic about the club’s performances in the ongoing 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season.
Currently sitting ninth on the league table with nine points—six points adrift of the top—Hearts have secured two wins from their first seven league matches.
Despite being on a five-game unbeaten streak, the Phobians have struggled to convert draws into victories. After narrowly avoiding relegation on the final day of the previous two seasons, Asare, who joined the club at the beginning of this season, believes there has been noticeable progress.
Speaking to the press following Hearts of Oak’s goalless draw against Dreams FC on Sunday, Asare urged fans to remain patient. “What I have to tell the fans is to be patient with the team. It is not every game that we can win. They should expect more victories from us,” he stated.
He emphasized that the team has improved, saying, “If you watch the games that we have played, you’ll realize that we have improved. And football too, it is not every day that will go your way.”
Hearts of Oak will look to build on their progress when they host Bibiani GoldStars this Sunday at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium in match week eight.
