Accra Hearts of Oak SC defeated arch rivals Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in the Super Clash on Sunday afternoon at the Accra Sports Stadium.

The Phobians gained the bragging right over their opponents with a slim victory over the Kumasi lads to return to winning ways in the 2022-23 Ghana Premier League season.

Hearts were the better team in the first half of the match and created a lot of chances getting six shots on target in the first half to Kotoko’s one shot.

In the second half of the match, Konadu Yiadom scored the only goal of the match to put the hosts 1-0 up early in the second half of the match with a powerful header.

Hearts had a lot of chances but couldn’t be clinical infront of goal as all the chances went waste.

Uganda striker Steven Mukwala hit the cross bar as Kotoko came close to scoring and later thought they should have had a spot kick when Dennis Korsah came into contact with Mukwala.

Hearts won the game 1-0 with Hearts getting all three points and lifting the 2023 President’s as a result of the win over the Porcupine Warriors.
