Hearts of Oak has not initiated any official contact with Tom Strand, the Swedish trainer, despite the desires of the supporters, according to Sportsworldghana.com sources.
According to reports in the media, the former Ghana Premier League champions are in advanced discussion with Tom Strand to take up the vacant coaching job. However, our sources reveal that the club is yet to contact the former Medeama coach for the job.
While the supporters express their interest in having Tom Strand on board, the lack of official contact raises questions about the club’s decision-making process or potential delays in reaching out to the Swedish trainer.
The Phobians are currently without a substantive trainer following the sacking of Dutch coach Martinus Koopman over unimpressive results in the Ghana Premier League.
Koopman joined Hearts of Oak before the start of the season and was mandated to revive the club after enduring a difficult season last-term that saw the Phobians finished 12th on the league table. However, the Dutch gaffer felled short to the club’s expectation and was shown the exit door.
Our sources further revealed that Strand is ready to make the move if the club make official approach.
Tom Strand is not new to Ghana football. He has had spells with Great Olympics and Medeama respectively.
Hearts of Oak are currently sixth position on the table with 16 points. They will travel to Dormaa to face Aduana Stars in the week 13 of the Ghana Premier League.
Meanwhile, the Phobians has been kicked out of the FA Cup competition following defeat to Nania FC on Wednesday at the Pobiman Complex.
