Hearts of Oak have begun negotiations with goalkeeper Solomon Agbasi over a new contract as the club looks to retain one of its most consistent performers ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The Phobians are making progress in discussions with the 25-year-old shot-stopper, with both parties hopeful of reaching an agreement that will see Agbasi extend his stay at the club.
Agbasi’s current deal is approaching its final stages, sparking interest from other Ghana Premier League clubs. League champions Medeama SC are reportedly among the teams monitoring the goalkeeper’s situation as they continue to strengthen their squad.
Despite beginning last season as the second-choice goalkeeper, Agbasi delivered outstanding performances whenever called upon. He made 12 Ghana Premier League appearances during the 2025/26 campaign and recorded nine clean sheets, earning praise as one of the league’s top goalkeepers.
His impressive form also caught the attention of the national team selectors, earning him a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he travelled with the Black Stars as the reserve goalkeeper.
Hearts of Oak are determined to prevent losing the talented goalkeeper and view him as a key figure in their rebuilding plans. The club believes securing Agbasi’s future will provide stability as they prepare for another competitive Ghana Premier League campaign.
