Hearts of Oak have intensified their preparations for the upcoming 2023/24 football season with another friendly match on Wednesday, September 6.
The Accra-based club faced off against lower-tier side Susubribi Football Club in this friendly encounter. In a well-contested match held in Koforidua, Hearts of Oak emerged victorious with a 1-0 win.
The solitary goal of the game was netted by the prolific striker Issah Kuka. Kuka, who spent the previous season on loan, is striving to secure a spot in Hearts of Oak’s starting eleven for the upcoming football season.
In the 2022/23 football season, the Phobians encountered difficulties and failed to make it to the top four, ultimately finishing in 10th place, much to the disappointment of their fans.
With the acquisition of several high-quality players, the new head coach, Martin Hendrikus Wilhemus Koopman, has been entrusted with the task of constructing a formidable squad for the forthcoming season.
Hearts of Oak are scheduled to participate in a series of friendly matches in Koforidua before returning to Accra for further preparations.
