Ghana’s Black Stars head coach Chris Hughton has stated how important Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey is to his Black Stars team.
He says Partey is important to his team’s progress and is looking forward getting the best out of the player when Ghana plays Angola in Kumasi and Luanda respectively in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
“Thomas Partey is a wonderful player and he’s currently a huge influence in the current Arsenal team in the English Premier League. He’s also hugely important to the current Black Stars team and I am looking forward to getting the best out of him” – Chris Hughton
“Partey’s roles for both club and country are different from each other but key,” said Hughton. “His role in the team is as a continuity player. He is not the type of player to expect to dribble past multiple players. His role is important to what the team does even if he doesn’t always stand out.”
Hughton’s remarks come ahead of Ghana’s critical 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Angola on Thursday, where a win would significantly enhance their chances of qualifying for the 2024 tournament in Ivory Coast.
