West Ham defender Emerson Palmieri has expressed admiration for teammate Mohammed Kudus, highlighting the Ghanaian midfielder’s incredible strength and explosive abilities on the pitch.
Palmieri, who joined the Hammers in 2022, spoke highly of the 24-year-old’s impact in training and matches, despite Kudus being sidelined by a suspension following his red card in the team’s 4-1 defeat to Tottenham in October.
Appearing on West Ham’s official Iron Cast Podcast, Palmieri revealed the challenges of facing Kudus in training, labeling him as one of the strongest players at the club.
“Ahhh, he’s so strong. Sometimes I train against him and go to tackle him, and I feel my leg—he’s so strong,” Palmieri remarked. “He protects the ball so well, and he’s so explosive in the first 10 metres. When he goes one vs one against me, I just think, ‘Someone help me.’”
West Ham has noticeably felt Kudus’ absence during his suspension, with manager Julen Lopetegui eager to have the Ghanaian back on the field. Fans will have to wait until December 3rd, when the Hammers face Leicester City, for Kudus to return to action.
Kudus’ dynamism has been vital to West Ham’s success this season, and his return is highly anticipated as the team looks to regain form in the Premier League.
