Issah Abass, the Ghanaian forward, has been recognized for his exceptional performance in Chaves’ draw with Santa Clara by being included in Sofascore’s Liga Portugal team of the week.

Abass, who previously scored the winning goal in a game against Benfica after coming off the bench, once again demonstrated his abilities as a substitute by scoring late in the game against Santa Clara. He was brought on in the 66th minute to replace Bernardo Sousa with the score still level at 0-0.

The 24-year-old attacker scored in the 83rd minute, with a penalty area shot that went unobstructed. Unfortunately, Chaves’ lead did not last, as Santa Clara scored the equalizer just three minutes later through Bruno Jordao.

The match had a dramatic ending, as Guima was sent off for an argument that resulted in him receiving two quick bookings in added time.

Chaves secured a point from the match, which places them in 10th position in the league, while Santa Clara remains at the bottom.

In 21 league appearances for Chaves, Issah Abass has scored four goals.

Here is the Liga Portugal team of the week as selected by Sofascore:
