During FIFA’s 73rd Congress in Kigali, Rwanda, Asamoah Gyan, the Ghanaian football legend, was present, along with other notable figures such as former international player Kwadwo Asamoah, Vice President of GFA Mark Addo, and General Secretary Prosper Harrison Addo. Ghana’s Chief Justice Annin-Yeboah, who also serves as the Chairman of the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, was also in attendance.

Asamoah Gyan and Kwadwo Asamoah were invited by CAF President Patrice Motsepe after attending the Outstanding Achievement Awards in Rwanda.

They were among many African football legends who attended the ceremony in honor of President of Rwanda Paul Kagame and King Mohammed VI of Morocco before proceeding to the 73rd FIFA Congress.

On Thursday, March 16, 2023, the FIFA Congress re-elected President Gianni Infantino for another four years. This marked the first time an elective FIFA Congress took place in Africa, and Asamoah Gyan expressed his excitement at being a part of this historic event.
