The mood in the country is currently an exciting one. The Black Stars of Ghana have qualified to the 2022 FIFA World Cup finals to be staged in Qatar later this year and they did it the hard way.
The first leg of the qualification play – off ended 0-0 in Kumasi but the team of Otto Addo went to Abuja to qualify ahead of the Super Eagles of Nigeria who were undoubtedly the favorites of this tie. This is no mean feat.
Now the sins of the team in Cameroon during the AFCON – failing to win a single game and defeated by minnows Comoros – have been forgiven by Ghanaians.
It’s been a very long time since we witnessed such a joyous mood across board in the country.
Going forward , this qualification should set the tone for the revival of the Ghana national team and the rebuilding process to win the country’s first AFCON title in more than 40 years.
The love is indeed back.
