Hull manager Liam Rosenior wishes departing Tetteh well

Hull City manager Liam Rosenior has wished Ghanaian international Benjamin Tetteh good luck as a move to the French Ligue 1 beckons.

Tetteh was at the Hull training grounds on Monday to say good bye to his colleagues and coaches after agreeing terms with newly promoted Ligue 1 club Metz.

“Benjamin, as far as I know, has nearly agreed with his club and we’ll announce that at the right time. I have to put this on record,” Rosenior explained in conversation with Hull Live.

“He’s probably one of the players that I had the closest relationship with in the squad, I absolutely love him to pieces. The decision to let him go is not for footballing reasons, and if it was for footballing reasons and we wanted to keep him then we would.

“I wish Benji all the very best. There’s certain things that happen in people’s lives that take precedence over football, and the fact we’re on the verge of bringing Aaron Connolly in, we can be successful with or without Benjamin Tetteh.

“He came into the training ground and I had a great 15 minutes with him. I told him that just because he’s leaving the club, we’ll still be in contact and we’ll still be friends and I’ll be there for him, he loved it here, absolutely loved it, he was in tears at leaving the club but it was the right move for him, and to be honest, it’s the right move for us as well.”

Tetteh endured a torrid one year at Hull City as he suffered two career threatening hamstring injuries.
