Black Stars forward Antoine Semenyo says he is excited to have completed his much-anticipated move to Premier League side Bournemouth after a long wait.
The 23-year-old was officially announced as a Cherry on Friday, January 27, after penning a four-year deal with the club following his decision to leave Bristol City.
Semenyo is set to wear jersey number 24 for Bournemouth after completing his deal and says he is glad to have finally joined the Premier League outfit.
“It’s unbelievable, to be honest. I had been waiting a while for this to be done and I am happy it is done. I can’t wait to get started,” he said in his interview with the club.
“[The Bournemouth] interest was from last summer but injury occurred and I downplayed a bit but I continued and came back from injury, started playing well and the interest came back so I can’t complain.”
The Ghanaian has been one of Bristol’s best players in the 2022/23 season after netting six goals and providing three assists. Only Nahki Wells has netted more goals than Semenyo in the Championship this season.
