Hearts of Oak’s head coach, Abubakar Ouattara, has cleared the air on the role of Vincent Odotei Sowah and Braimah Akambi in the club’s player transfer dealings.
The experienced gaffer maintains that he is responsible for deciding which players are brought in and out of the team, after carefully reviewing their profiles and attitudes.
Ouattara insists that Odotei Sowah and Akambi’s role is limited to negotiating with players recommended by him and ensuring they sign with the club.
“I do the recommendations and they negotiate, they’re innocent. They are not in the market to sign or buy players for me.
“I do the recommendations after watching the player video and his attitude on and off the pitch then I handover the list to the board to do the negotiations or take it from there,” Ouattara told Obama TV.
According to Ouattara, he carefully reviews a player’s video footage and assesses their attitude on and off the pitch before submitting a list of recommended players to the board for negotiations. He emphasized that he takes full responsibility for his recommendations, which ultimately determine which players join or leave the club.
The clarification comes as Hearts of Oak prepares to face Asante Kotoko SC in the upcoming Democracy Cup later this month, following the signing of two new players from Nations FC.
