Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has acknowledged the growing frustration among supporters following the team’s recent dip in form, but insists there is still hope for improvement.
The Porcupine Warriors currently sit fifth in the Ghana Premier League, seven points behind leaders Medeama SC, having recorded just one win in their last five matches. In that run, they have suffered three defeats and drawn once, a sequence that has left fans disappointed.
Speaking ahead of Sunday’s fixture against Nations FC at the Baba Yara Stadium, Owusu admitted he understands the mood among the fanbase but urged them not to lose faith.
“I don’t blame them for giving up,” he said. “But I still believe there is hope, and we are ready to turn things around.”
The interim coach emphasized that the team’s current league position does not reflect their ambitions for the season and expressed confidence in climbing the table in the coming matches.
Kotoko will face a Nations FC side that has maintained an unbeaten record against them since their promotion to the top flight. Kickoff for the encounter is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
