Ghanaian striker Eddie Nketiah scored his fourth goal of pre-season in Arsenal’s win over Orlando City on Wednesday, a result of his link up play with strike partner Gabriel Jesus.
The two of them played most of the second half up front together, and caused no end of problems to the home defence.
It was Nketiah’s goal that fired the gunners ahead.
“Gabby did well in there,” he said. “I think he did a little shift and it dropped and I was alert and just passed it into the back of the net. It was nice to score and it’s a good feeling.” Nketiah told the club’s website.
The incoming Black Stars forward’s goal was followed by a joint celebration, that will hopefully become a familiar sight this season.
“Yeah, we had a little chat, we’ve been getting on really well,” he added.
“I enjoy playing with him and obviously we’ve got the same celebration so we said the next time one of us score, he called me last time, so I said we can do a little link up next time.
“Hopefully, we can continue to score goals and celebrate together.” Nketiah concluded.
