Ghanaian midfielder Majeed Ashimeru has expressed his gratitude to Anderlecht after extending his contract for two more years with the Belgium Pro League giants.
The 26-year-old’s contract will now run until 2027, after the latest renewal on Tuesday. Ashimeru has been with Anderlecht for the past three seasons, having joined from Red Bull Salzburg in 2021 for a reported fee of €1.5 million.
“In the last three seasons at RSC Anderlecht, I have grown as a player and as a person. I’m very grateful to both the club and the fans for their continued support over the past years,” Ashimeru told the club’s official website.
Despite interest from other clubs, Ashimeru opted to extend his stay with Anderlecht, committing to the club until 2027. His new contract reflects Anderlecht’s commitment to building around his talents, despite injury setbacks limiting his appearances to 12 last season.
Since joining Anderlecht, Ashimeru has made a significant impact, amassing over 100 appearances and becoming a linchpin in midfield.
