Ghana international Abdul Baba Rahman has acknowledged that injuries have slowed him down and altered his playing style.
The 28-year-old has drawn criticism for his underwhelming performances while playing for the national team in recent years.
Rahman’s ascent to popularity began with his stellar performance at Augsburg, which led to a transfer to Premier League club Chelsea. However, the Ghanaian has fallen short of expectations.
While he hasn’t had the best of years lately, injuries have also impeded his progress, and the defender acknowledges that it has caused him to alter his playing approach.
“I will say injuries have changed me a lot. Injuries in my knees have changed my style of play,” he said on Star Connect.
“Like my running pattern. I also had to adapt to how it changed my body. It has also made me tough, much more than I was before. Because having these kinds of injuries and having to battle it and getting back to playing, it shows mentally prepared I was.”
