Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) President, Kwesi Nyantakyi, has addressed speculations about discord between himself and his Vice President, George Afriyie.
Nyantakyi’s comments follow accusations made by Afriyie, who previously labeled Nyantakyi as greedy and accused him of reversing his decision not to contest for the top post again in 2018.
In response to these allegations, Nyantakyi clarified his stance during an interview on Onua TV, stating, “I have no issues with George Afriyie,” Nyantakyi affirmed.
“If someone offends me I don’t keep it in me, and I’ve let go of everything but I will not call him, he’s not my friend that I call for us to sit somewhere or go to the bush canteen to eat fufu,” Nyantakyi added.
Nyantakyi’s presidency at the GFA concluded in 2018, and since then, two presidential elections have occurred within the organization.
While Afriyie participated in the first election unsuccessfully, he faced disqualification in the subsequent election held last year.
