Football legend, Samuel Eto’o, says he is hoping Asamoah Gyan’s dream of playing at the 2022 FIFA World Cup with the Black Stars will become a reality.
Since announcing last week that he wants to rejoin the national squad in time for the World Cup being held in Qatar, Gyan has been making headlines.
Ghanaians and his former mates have had differing opinions on what he said during the BBC interview.
Eto’o, who was in Ghana on a two-day tour ahead of the World Cup, said although all decisions will rely on the head coach, he hopes Gyan’s target can be achieved.
“I think it’s a good thing to have a dream and I believe for all African sons that gave us joy while playing, it is just natural that they nurture such a dream,” he told Joy Sports.
“I hope that his dream becomes a reality. But as we are all aware, the final decision is that of the coach.”
