Former England international Owen Hargreaves has lauded Ghana forward Antoine Semenyo for his versatility and growing influence following another standout performance for Manchester City.
The 26-year-old grabbed the decisive goal in City’s narrow 1-0 victory over Leeds United on Saturday, a result that helped Pep Guardiola’s side maintain pressure on Arsenal in the Premier League title race.
‘A Fabulous and Versatile Player’
While analysing the closely fought encounter, Hargreaves singled out the Black Stars attacker, insisting Semenyo has fully earned his place among the league’s elite players.
“He deserves the opportunity to play with one of the best teams and alongside the best players,” Hargreaves said after the match.
“He’s a fabulous player — he can operate on the left, through the middle, or on the right. Today he played as a split striker. I love watching him play; he’s versatile, athletic and a good finisher. His journey to the top is quite an amazing story.”
Impressive Numbers This Season
Semenyo’s latest strike continues an excellent campaign for the Ghana international, who has now registered 14 goals and four assists in 27 Premier League appearances this season, underlining his importance to Manchester City’s title ambitions.
