Former Fulham FC and gha star, John Paintsil says he saw a lot of fighting spirit in Jordan Ayew against Brazil on Friday evening.
The Ghana legend stated that, the Crystal Palace FC player was able to come back to his own goal area to defend for the team.
“I saw a lot of fighting spirit in Jordan Ayew. At some point, I even saw him trekking all the way to the box to defend for the team.”
” During the World Cup, I can say that he would be the leading trail that everybody will be following. Jordan’s work rate was very high in the game as well and his leadership quality too was outstanding,” he told Berekum-based Akwaaba Radio.
He gave a thorough explanation about how he felt about the stunning performance of the younger Ayew on Friday evening in France at the Stade Oceane in Le Havre.
“There are two segments of football lovers. There are those who know and understand the game from a technical standpoint and there are those who know how to watch the game.”
“I’m a football person [played and coached as well] so I know what I’m talking about. Missing just a chance in a game doesn’t erase the total contribution of Jordan in the game.”
“From what I saw from him yesterday, he really pushed hard yesterday. You could see that he wanted the results. He is one of the players who have adapted to the Ghana national team culture very well. I think our supporters need to give this boy [Jordan Ayew] credit for his performance and support him,” he added.
