Accra Hearts of Oak SC defender Samuel Inkoom says he terminated his one year contract with an European club just to play in the Ghana Premier League.

The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC player says he had a one year deal with Torpedo FC in the Belarusian Premier League ahead of his move to the local league.

He initially wanted to join Kumasi Asante Kotoko SC in his return but that deal fell through and later joined rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak SC.

“My last team was Torpedo FC. I had one year left on my contract with them but I terminated it because I said I want to join the GPL. I joined the Oak family and the reception was great.

People thought I’d rather join kotoko”, Inkoom said

He ended the season by winning the 2021-22 MTN FA Cup trophy when the Phobians beat The Hunters, Bechem United FC to lift the covetous trophy at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on Sunday, June 26.
