Head coach of the Black Queens, Nora Hauptle, has encouraged her players and technical team to revel in the team’s success this year during the Christmas holidays.
The accomplished Swiss tactician has steered Ghana to qualify for the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) tournament.
In the decisive final round of qualifiers, the Black Queens displayed resilience and secured a commendable 3-2 aggregate victory over Namibia. Speaking in a post-match interview after Tuesday’s second leg, Coach Nora Hauptle expressed her pride in the team’s achievements.
“I’m proud of this year; we won 10 out of 11 games, and I think we can have a nice Christmas,” remarked Coach Nora Hauptle.
With the qualification sealed, the Black Queens now shift their focus to good preparations in the lead-up to the 2024 WAFCON tournament in Morocco, aiming to build on their success and make a significant impact in the continental competition.
